last night: VIRGINS concert @mercury lounge->max fish -> afterparty @ happy ending->beatrice inn. (whew)

the concert (Lissy Trullie & The Fibs, Frankpolis & The Virgins) was completely sold out, which meant (in regards to the types of bands playing) the crowd was loud, fun and hip.

frankpolis are not the virgins. rather, virginal, sweet boys. actually, i guess they are the virgins then.

i'd never heard lissy's band before and she was absolutely amazzzzzing. 'of montreal' ish. terribly catchy tunes =automatic dancing/bopping.

tonight=marie claire magazine party at milk studios

charities were involved. for dramatic effect.

photographs of models (taken between 1980s->now) covered every inch of the walls. people covered every inch of the floor. mad crowded. ugh.

DJ-admitted "hipster"/"electronic" music played the entire time. it was hard not to dance to the same tunes i danced to last night at happy ending, but this social scene was all about self-imposed refinery.

some powerful woman at Marie Claire. how did i know her affluent position? she's wearing the most amazing dress from Chloe's latest collection. I don't believe its even in stores yet. lucky bugger.

my Laurennnnnn. whose drink matches her dress and whose face/hair matches up to daisy lowe's. (in my opinion)

yesterday=wall st guys casting -> milk studios BBQ!

still needing guys for a story we're casting, the boss and i travel down to wall street's post-wall-street bar for happy hour.

its a bit creepy how many blue shirted guys were in the crowd. american psycho flashback....

the scene was so preppy even the keyhole said YALE on it

but guys were found and off to milk studios......

free beer, red bull and alcoholic-looking bottles of water. ergo a very LARGE diverse crowd.

pah-ha, not tonightt......

how to instantly look like a not-so-macho-man-when-they-tumble-off-after-clutching-the-bull-struggling-to-stay-on. and/or a drunk fool when they flash the crowd (girls mostly). seriously, bull riding is NOT sexy to me.

last night=nylon magazine party at irving plaza->the backroom

yes, myspace=a place for friends, the co-representative of tonight. that said, a VIP pass was needed to access half of irving plaza.

darla baker: who is young and single and gorgeous and is unaware of someone's massive, massive crush on her. next time, "mystery guy", i WILL shove you over the wall to make you go talk to her....

2. The Back Room serves crudite and plates of food. it was mad winsome and mad lush.

the fashion show was screened on a massive wall on repeat. so every 8 minutes or so, coco rocha's scary-eyed pout was revealed. ugh.

I was under the impression everyone goes AWAY over this weekend. I thought people had BBQs and made the excuse that it was in good form to celebrate memorial day by getting drunk.
but damnnnnn all these clubs were FULL.

Ergo, there's no point to go away, and there's no point to go to sleep. Too much fun is always occuring.

Wednesday night=Maxim Hot 100 party.
It also = night of torrential, pouring, this-is-so-not-seattle-so-why-the-weather, rain.

Here's the thing though--no one seemed especially hot. the party felt like some singles bar on the upper east side. the women were slightly too old to wear the short flirty dresses they were wearing, and then men were wearing clothes that i'd only seen on "True Life: I'm a Jersey Shore Girl"....and everyone was legal.

there were 2 exceptions:
super hot guy right here. the dark green colors highlighted his curves perfectly.

and amanda lepore looked super beautiful. and was superrr nice to me.

the outside of barneys. I assumed the "is kate there" to refer to her london store-front appearence. she was no (*cough* stupid *cough*) mannequin last night. whew.

can you just imagine your face plastered EVERYWHERE like this?
afterwards i stole 2 of these. oh my room is so much more awesome now.

the truely amazing DJs who did the party and the afterparty. unlike all the stuffy people there, they were SERIOUSLY getting their groove on. when kate walked downstairs after a smoke break, they put on babyshambles. obvs.

Sunday Night @ Hiro w/ Sean.......

which turned out to be gay night. which meant there was a massively smokey dance floor. and lots and lots and lots of hot guys. who were gay. but i could still look.......

so yesterday was the parsons fashion show, where the graduating students show off their work, and the 2 most aspiring designers are awarding a prize. <--my version of what it actually was.

Absolutely gorgeous day...the show was at the Park Hyatt which is absolutely ginormous and inside, i had to ask directions to the show 2x. awesome.

i discovered i had some pics from misshapes 3/31 when i went with superfly photog JD Ferguson, black haired, doe eyed Georgia Frost, Daul Kim, and Marieke Sterling.

JD, its the not the size, its how you use it. we've established that.

These were given as presents to many people in internship 1.

But here's the confusing aspect to me.

1. Cheesy-ness. "the modern era of energy drinks" SERIOUSLY?
have we progressed, in so many new directions, that now is the time to focus on the evolution of energy drinks?

2. red bull/monster energy drinks, the really intense, full-of-chemicals, party-hardy drinks, are at the beginning. if someone REALLY wants energy, they're going to pick those types.

3. seperation anxiety: there is a significant space between the Glaceau drinks and the others.

4. glaceau drinks contain no caffeine.

i love how there are parties every single day of the year.

after internship1 finished for the day (slash subtly checking gawker, imaginarysocialite, fashionista, perez hilton, nymag, and COACD every 10 minutes....) Off to Plumm w/ Ron & Caleb. super spiffin stylish duo.

why there are 2 m's in Plumm, i have no idea. i was thinking like the fruit.

I speak ironically of course. about fruits. loads of fruits at Plumm tonight.

in fact there were loads of hot people. and one really, ridiculously, good-looking tranny.

ron & caleb & i made the (few of many) drinks we got look romantic. color coordination is key.

liam mcmullan DJs. his song collection is ridiculously impressive. i make a few song additions including 'sexy results' by Death From Above 1979, 'fuck the pain away' by Peaches and "steady as she goes" by the Raconteurs. epic dance songs

someone's birthday. i didnt know who he was. and was slightly pissed because we had to pause an Of Montreal song to sing.

patrick mcmullan takes loads of photos of all the fabulously hot people at the party.

and at the end of the night, patrick is pretty tired. so he leaves.

I declined to take a gift bag purely because they weighed about 100000 lbs and I was in no mood to schlep it around for the next few hours. i'm sure they were awesome.
and before the night had ended over $300,000 had been raised for various charities.
these events should happen more often....

Morning:
FOUR hour casting for Nina Shoes.
sad part of day: discarded photo cards. I metaphorically pity it in all its squalor.

Afternoon:

super stylish couple come in. take pictures of them. epic style. less epic attending-classes ethics.

Night:
Spin magazine party at Milk Studios.

went with superfly friend, Kay Krumbalina G.
we spent maybe 20+ minutes waiting for drinks. but they were worth it. they were big.

Special DJ sets by the Teddybears.

"DJ Teddy Bear-am I the imaginary socialite?"

Then, we were kidnapped by rock stars. this mangy/grungy group of young guys had come in and grabbed the two of us. kay and i were very quickly ushered into the basement of milk and onto prime seats of the couch where we were treated to a superexcellent, super secretive concert by Bloody Social!
superhot, super british Jamie Burke was my muse for the 30+ minutes they played a 6 or so song set.

they were awesome. yes jamie's rep clearly gets them more attention but he also has a julian casablancas-esq voice. and thats good too. really good. really really good.
yay for secret concerts.
